Dr. Marita R. Inglehart is a Professor of Dentistry in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan – School of Dentistry and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan - College of Literature, Science and the Arts (LSA) in Ann Arbor, MI. She received her education at the University of Mannheim in Germany where she also was a faculty member. She came to Ann Arbor as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Psychology in the 1980s, and remained there as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Psychology and a lecturer in the Inteflex Program in the Medical School. In 1990, she began to teach the behavioral science courses for dental and dental hygiene students at the University of Michigan - School of Dentistry and has been at this school since then.
Dr. Inglehart has served as the only Associate Editor for the Journal of Dental Education, the official journal of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), for the past 8 years. She chaired the Behavioral Science section of ADEA twice in the past and served as a consultant to ADEA on various occasions. She currently serves on the NIDCR – Secondary Data Analysis Review Board and is a Fellow of the Association of Psychological Science (APS).
